Hello! Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish is happy to announce that we will be starting up Faith Formation for grades Kindergarten-tenth grade for the 2022-2023 school year. The goal of Faith Formation is to teach children about their Catholic faith through Catechesis and bring them into a deeper relationship with God. Faith Formation is a wonderful way for your child(ren) to learn about the Catholic faith with the hope that they will be able to live it out faithfully and boldly now and all the days of their life.
    A child who is in second grade during the set school year will receive preparation for the Sacrament of the Reception of First Holy Communion. A child who is in eighth grade during the set school year will receive preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. If your child is in ninth or tenth grade and has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation, they are more than welcome to join in the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation for this school year. Those who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation in eighth grade are invited to join us for Faith Formation up to tenth grade to continue their education of the Catholic faith past their Confirmation.
    The schedule for Faith Formation is for the students to attend Catechesis class on Sundays at 10:20am until 10:55am. The students are highly encouraged to attend Mass before or after their Faith Formation class. The Mass before class is the 9:00am Mass in English (Novus Ordo) and the Mass after the class is the 11:15am Mass in Latin (Extraordinary Form). The Mass is the most important part of the Catholic faith as it is the source and summit of Catholicism and one’s personal faith life. With this understanding of the Mass, we have decided to make Faith Formation classes shorter to give the students and their families the ability and time to attend Mass on Sundays.
