A Prayer Request:
A local man from the Syracuse area, Jimmer Szatzkowski, who is suffering from the debilitating disease ALS is asking for prayers for his healing through Blessed Carlo Acutis’ intercession. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness, loss of motor control, and loss of speech. It is a disease for which, sadly, there is no cure. Jimmer is praying to Bl. Carlo Acutis for a miracle and to be restored to full health.
We ask all parishioners, in your charity, to pray for Jimmer to be restored to full health, through the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis. -

Blessed Carlo Acutis:
Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991 - 2006) was an Italian teenager who lived and offered his death for love of Jesus, wishing to waste not “even a minute of it doing things that wouldn’t please God”. During his lifetime he was known for his deep devotion to the Eucharist and received Holy Communion daily. Carlos said: “The more we receive (the Eucharist), the more we will become like Jesus, so that on this earth we will have a foretaste of Heaven”. Another time he said: “When we face the sun, we get a tan, but when we stand before Jesus in the Eucharist, we become saints.” He had a great interest in technology and used the internet as a tool of evangelization, creating a database to promote knowledge of Eucharistic miracles.
Carlo died of leukemia, aged 15. He was beatified by Pope Francis on 10 October 2020. His Cause for sainthood is ongoing and a miraculous healing is necessary as part of this canonization process. -
