Pope Benedict XV (d.1922): "Let all of you have a common language and a common armour: the language, the sentences of the Gospel; the armour, the Scapular of the Virgin of Carmel, which you all ought to wear and which enjoys the singular privilege of protection even after death."

Why Promote the Scapular?

One of the most popular Marian devotions in the Church is the Scapular.  It used to be on par with the rosary.  In truth it is on par with the rosary except that few Catholics know about the scapular today!  Everyone should wear this sacramental!  There are three promises: protection in life, peace and whosoever dies wearing the Brown Scapular shall not suffer the eternal fire.   These are some amazing promises and some 170,000 people die each day.  Why not trust Our Lady and help promote this  to everyone.  

Scapular Making: 

We have a small team of parishioners and friends who make scapulars for our parish and beyond.  We have given away thousands of brown scapulars for free.  We support and work closely with the Scapular Apostolate, Inc, (www.scapularap.com)whose mission is to try to get these scapulars out to the world.  The Scapular Apostolate seeks to 'put a scapular around everyone's shoulder' .  They have been trying to build an automated robotic machine that can make millions - not easy to achieve!

• We all have a Baptismal obligation to work for the salvation of souls.

• Approximately 170,000 people die each day and all of them are Mary’s children.  Sr. Lucia from Fatima told us that she wants all to wear the Brown Scapular. The children of Fatima saw a terrible vision of Hell on July 13, 1917. “Many souls go to Hell because there is no one to pray for them.”  Our Lady of Fatima to Lucia.

• The Brown Scapular promises peace, protection in time of danger, and whosoever dies wearing this Scapular will not suffer eternal fire. The Rosary is a devotion and the Scapular is a Consecration.

• We aim at spreading devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary through her Brown Scapular.“The wearing of the Brown Scapular is a sign of devotion to the Immaculate Heart.” Pope Pius XII  “God wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart” Our Lady of Fatima June 13, 1917.

• We estimate that only 5% of Catholics wear the Brown Scapular in theand it used to be nearly all Catholics would be enrolled at their First Holy Communion and so we want to help ‘pull this great devotion out of the Church’s attic’. Help Our Lady with this please!

• Our Lady is our Mother and the Queen of Heaven – some look at the scapular as swaddling clothes given to us – a daily reminder, a confidence, a powerful protector.
